Welcome to the 8th annual Eastern Select sale and thank you to all past and present supporters. The bulls have been developed on a Master Feeds bull ration and free choice hay. All bulls were vaccinated with Pyramid 5 and Ultrabac 7/Somubac on Jan. 6/2016.
M&L PERFORMER 450C (MLCC 450C)
BW: 106 lbs / AWW: 797 lbs / AYW: 1349 lbs (FULL FRENCH) - This is a bull that you just can't take a bad picture of and looking at the sire and cow family he gets it honestly. Some of the top selling cattle in the past few years have been French and French influenced. I am not trying to promote one type over the other, my point would be to pick a bull with traits your herd might be lacking. If you need to add some thickness, bone and muscling without sacrificing maternal (most likely improving) give this bull serious consideration. His maternal brother by ROUKY was used on a group of purebred and French cows last spring/summer, and they have calved out extremely well. |
M&L 110C (MLCC 110C)
BW: 102 lbs / AWW: 776 lbs / AYW: 1333 lbs (FULL FRENCH) - Sired by RAINBOW 7N MR 13S and out of a super NELSON cow. RAINBOW 13S has had a large influence on the Patton herd, and I am thankful they allowed me some semen on this great bull. This is just a really balanced bull with a good frame. A maternal sister was a high selling calf in the National Sale a few years back and she has a smoken good JEZABEL heifer calf this year. 11M pictured at 14 is as sound as ever. Excellent feet and legs bred in as well, it is not hard to connect the dots to profit here. |
M&L 311B (MLCC 311B)
BW: 94 lbs / Jan 6 weight 1430 lbs (FULL FRENCH) - This a direct IMPAIR son, a French sire that is well respected and whose semen is not easy to get. Again off a super NELSON cow, MLCC 31R and going back to PCFL ROSE 31M a great RAINBOW/JUGURTHA cow. You would be hard pressed to find another bull with as much depth, top and quarter as this guy, with a smooth front end and moderate birthweight. 311B is really athletic and would cover a lot of cows. His maternal brother by TOULON ,311A, pictured here after breeding 40 cows had a similar moderate birth weight and I have had no assists to date on second calvers and cows. |
M&L 86B (MLCC 86B)
BW: 96 lbs / Jan 6 weight: 1145 lbs This is a PTITPRINCE son out of a PCFL RIO GRANDE(JAMES BOND) daughter. 86B is a moderate framed bull with the typical PRINCE attributes of large scrotal, excellent feet, top line and quarter. In fairness you will sacrifice some performance here, but I think this is a bull that would work on well developed heifers and you have great maternal and structure in the pedigree. |
M&L RAMSES 11C (MLCC 11C)
BW: 90 lbs / AWW: 777 lbs / AYW: 1390 lbs 11C is a super thick, moderate framed half french bull. His sire XAL FIRE IT UP 5A (XAL 5A) is Leptin TT (earlier finishing cattle) and is consistently siring lower birth weight, short gestation calves, that are all docile and polled. His dam is a moderate, easy keeping SNOOPY daughter out of PCFL 11M, a great foundation cow, still producing. Allan used 5A on some females before I bought him and the progeny have been well received. |
M&L 1C (MLCC 1C)
BW: 80 / AWW: 734 lbs / AYW: 1145 lbs (HALF FRENCH) - 1C is a polled/scurred bull off a PCFL 9T (PTITPRINCE) 1st calver. As metioned XAL 5A is siring very short gestation calves. 1C had an actual 274 day gestation and 80 lb B.W.. This a bull that I feel confident you could use on 1st calvers of any breed or cross. Calving ease, polled and a great temperament as well. |
CEDARDALE ARGO 25A (CED 25A)
No tricks here. ARGO has done a great job! I purchased ARGO at the Cedardale sale, as a calving ease bull to breed a large group of French heifers, I had purchased and raised. He sired only 2 bull calves (18C being one) and the rest heifers. At present I have a large group of his heifers to breed and am still breeding the cow herd Full French, so it makes sense to sell him now in his prime.I had him DNA tested and he is homo polled. 25A is sired by the well respected BLUEGRASS and was out of a very good SURVIVOR cow that had an excellent udder and feet. He is long, sound, docile and had a whopping set of 44s at 14 months. As you will see with 18C, he passes on that good cherry shaped hind quarter as well. He left me with a nice set of females. Buy with confidence. |
M&L 18C (MLCC 18C)
BW: 94 lbs / AWW: 742 lbs / AYW: 1156 lbs After reading the footnote on ARGO you get the picture. I will say that his dam just calved again to MLCC 311A and has a real nice little heifer. She also has a real good udder and an abundance of milk. 18C was born unassisted and is again a bull that should work well on properly developed heifers. |
M&L 570B (RMHL 570B)
BW: 95 lbs / Jan 6 weight 1455 lbs This is a long yearling bull that just has a lot to offer! Ellingson Ideal has not sired a bad calf here. I have calved out his heifers and they have great udders and ample milk. 570 is long, thick and docile. He could be homo polled. Again I have to mention cow families, because I think they are so important. Take a look at his dam at 10 with a big fall calf on her. His grandam M&L KENDRA 57K(ER BIG SKY) at 16, just had a beautiful ER RED DECK heifer calf. She still has great feet and legs, milks a ton and has perfect teats. I know there are other cows like that out there, but there sure aren't many! |
RMHL 40B
BW: 100 lbs / Jan 6 weight: 1295 lbs This is just a complete, solid Fullblood bull sired by the great Gidsco Appollo. He has got the look and the pedigree. 40W has had consistently good calves, no matter what the sire. Take a look at this guy in the flesh and you will be hard pressed to find a fault. |
M&L 54B (RMHL 54B)
BW: 93 lbs / Jan 6 weight: 1355 lbs Sired by TNT TOP GUN and out of a moderate, heavy milking model T cow. This guy is really thick and well put together. Again he gets that from ma and pa. I am going to stop, as I don't want you to think this is, as one farmer put it "propaganda". I think it is an honest assessment of the cattle. |
M&L 17C (RMHL 17C)
BW: 102 lbs / WW: 820 lbs / Jan 6 weight: 1215 lbs (Polled) Registration pending. Dam: RMHL 71X. Sire: ER RED DECK 639D. B.D. Feb. 1st 2015 ER RED DECK, TNT DYNAMITE BLACK and ER BIG SKY. Those of you familiar with the breed know that is about as strong a maternal pedigree as you will get. 17C is a deep sided bull with a lot of performance, coming from RED DECK. Again like 570B the grandam is a BIG SKY cow. Zoom in on that 71J cow. She is 17, has a fall calf on her and has cycled again! |
M&L 117C (RMHL 117C)
BW: 78 lbs / WW: 780 lbs / Jan 6 weight: 1200 lbs (Polled) (Twin) Registration Pending. Dam: RMHL 71S. Sire: LCHMN BODYBUILDER 7303F. B.D: Jan. 12th 2015 Sired by BODYBUILDER another great in the breed. Long , deep and maternal. All these Semi bulls have great testicle development .Again the grandam is 71J. |
